CDS Exports - Important Information for Declarants who use CDS to Query the Status of a DUCR

HMRC-Logo

HMRC have announced that following the CDS scheduled maintenance last weekend between 9:30pm on Saturday 28 September 2024 and 3:30am on Sunday 29 September 2024, two issues have been identified relating to querying the status of a UCR which may affect users.

An excerpt from HMRC's announcement providing detail about the identified issues and interim workarounds in place is below:

"Identified issues

HMRC previously identified an existing issue with querying the status of a UCR at DUCR level whereby an error or no response is returned for declarations that have an item level package count of zero. We are working to develop a resolution to this issue to be deployed in a future IT release.
HMRC have also identified a new issue that impacts querying the status of a UCR at DUCR level for all declarations that were submitted before 29 September 2024. Declarations that were submitted after 29 September 2024 are not impacted unless they have an item level package count of zero. An urgent fix is planned for imminent IT delivery.

Please note: this issue does not impact MUCR level queries.

Workaround

In the interim period, HMRC advise traders to use the following workarounds:

•If you need to check the status of a DUCR and know the MRN, you can use the Declaration Information Service (DIS) query if your software supports this.

•If you need to check the status of a consolidated DUCR, you can use one of the following services: CDS User Interface (also known as Make and Manage an Export Declaration Online) or software connecting to the Customs Inventory Linking Exports API end point, to query the MUCR. This will return the status of all underlining DUCRs including the one you need to check.

•If you need to check the status of a DUCR before associating into a MUCR, we advise that you complete the association first and then query the status of the MUCR which will also return the status of all underlining DUCRs.

•If you need to check the status of a DUCR before associating into a MUCR and are unable to complete the association first, you may need to invalidate the declaration and resubmit. This will only apply if the original declaration was submitted before 29 September 2024."
