CDS Exports: Transaction EAC

The latest HMRC guidance states that all export declarations are due to move from CHIEF to CDS by 30 March 2024. In preparation for the migration of maritime exports to CDS, HMRC is making changes to prevent certain message types via CHIEF HCI.

From 26 February 2024, you will no longer be able to send consolidation messages via CHIEF HCI. Use of the AEAC and ACST transactions in CHIEF will result in the generation of a CHIEF error and the consolidation will not be processed.

To avoid unnecessary delays at the border, consolidations must be created and shut using an alternative method.

To facilitate consolidation functionality via Destin8, we have designed a new Destin8 transaction: EAC.

EAC is available in Destin8 now and we are encouraging use of the transaction as soon as possible to allow you to familiarise yourself with it, in advance of the closure of consolidation functionality in CHIEF. Initially, you should use transaction EAC to consolidate CHIEF declarations.

EAC can be accessed in Destin8 by entering EAC into the transaction field or, alternatively, navigating to ‘Export Consolidations’ under ‘Exports’. As well as enabling the creation of consolidations, the transaction also facilitates the shutting of MUCRs.

A user guide can be found on the Destin8 Help page for transaction EAC.
