Like many organisations, we face attempts from malicious actors trying to compromise our systems. Although, most of these attacks aren’t carried out by someone manually typing commands. Instead, they come from automated programs designed to exploit vulnerabilities at a rate no human could match.
These automated programs, commonly known as bots, are cheap and easy to deploy, often costing less than a cup of coffee. This low barrier to entry means attackers can scale their efforts quickly, making even minor weaknesses a potential target.
What we're doing
You’ll recall that we implemented Cloudflare to protect against threats such as DDoS attacks. This solution has been working effectively, but we’re now taking additional steps to strengthen security. Many of our customers use the guest access feature to view and track consignments, perhaps when a colleague is using your Destin8 credentials or when you need to check job statuses quickly without logging in. While this convenience is important, guest access also presents an easier attack vector, and we need to address that.
From the 8th December 2025 we will be implementing a Captcha for all guest sign-ins.
What is Captcha?
You’ll be familiar with the “Are you a human?” checks that ask you to identify cars or traffic lights in images. We’re not implementing that ttype of Captcha. We find ourselves just as frustrated as you when trying to decide whether that pixel of a tyre constitutes a car. Instead, we are implementing a smarter alternative. This solution will automatically verify you as human. If a challenge is required, it will be as simple as ticking a box.
What this means for you
This change should have little to no impact on how you use Destin8 or the guest function. There’s nothing you need to do - just be aware
