Please be advised that, with effect from the 11/10/17 @ 12:00, the Port of Grangemouth will be generating Verified Gross Mass (VGM) discrepancy notifications via Destin8 for laden containerised exports at Grangemouth Container Terminal.

Where applicable, the Destin8 VGM01 VGM Discrepancy Notification (VGM01) message will be triggered for situations where a Shipper VGM that is outside the Port of Grangemouth’s specified VGM tolerance range that has been provided by the Port of Grangemouth. The range is defined as ‘where the difference between the shippers VGM and the Terminal VGM is either greater than ±5% or ± 500kg of the terminal VGM.’

Note 1:

If you wish to receive the Destin8 VGM Discrepancy Notification, then you will need to enable the output using the Company Output Requirement (COR) transaction to enable the Text version to be sent to your chosen Output Device. For information on How to Use COR please refer to the attached user guide or, alternatively, feel free to contact the Destin8 Helpdesk on 01394 600205 or via email to help@destin8.co.uk for further advice.

Please be aware that the VGM01 output will not be generated unless enabled!

Note 2:

The triggering of the Terminal VGM to Destin8 by the Port of Grangemouth as a result of a weight misdeclaration being identified, is subject to the situation in place at the Terminal and could be triggered at the point of arrival at the terminal or later in the process, depending on specific circumstances.

If you have any questions in relation to Forth Ports SOLAS Weight Requirements in general, or the discrepancy process above in particular, please contact our Admin Team on 01324 498 560  accordingly.
