Further to our previous article, published Monday 25 March, HMRC have announced that the issues experienced in CDS are resolved and the CDS service is now fully operational. Contingency plans for CDS will be stood down from 13:30 today, Wednesday 27 March. For any goods that were moved away from the frontier under customs control as a result of the issues, declarations should now be submitted and arrived in CDS.
Please note that CDS Release 4.4.0, implemented at the weekend, has introduced validation on the following authorisations:
- Customs Warehouse
- Special Procedures (Inward Processing, Outward Processing, End Use and Temporary Admission)
- Simplified Customs Declarations Procedures - SDE and EIDR
- Custom Comprehensive Guarantee and any associated deferment accounts
Provided below are links to various guidance pieces published by HMRC regarding the associated changes. Declarants should refer to this guidance and ensure it is followed for the completion of any new declarations. Any pre-lodged declarations that were submitted prior to the weekend release, and are impacted by the changes, should be amended to prevent rejection on arrival.
